Your textiles deserve better than landfill. Our reusable Rescue Bag recycling service makes it easy to find them their best next use.
Every bag is sorted by hand at our Palmerston North base. Wearable, repairable or upcyclable items find new owners through our online store or charitable partners. Everything else goes to Textile Products, our NZ-based recycler/manufacturer, or if it's one of the few categories not currently accepted by them, it will be passed on to after. to manage through their overseas recycling network.
What we accept: Freshly laundered and bone-dry clothing and textiles - virtually any fabric, any condition.
What to leave out: Used underwear, used bras. For a full list of exclusions and to find out where specific types of items are recycled, refer to our FAQ.
Our bags can be packed to a maximum of 6kg of textiles.
How it works:
- Order a Rescue Bag collection - we'll post it to you
- Fill it up
- Drop it at your nearest NZ Post Shop - return shipping is already taken care of
- We'll let you know when your textiles have been received
